dAgora

dAgora - Nunca Crear Solo.

💡 Creation is not a solitary contemplation, but a process of inspiration and interaction in different environments that leads to insights. Just like ancient Greek marketplaces or 17th-century French cafes, online communities are places where sparks of inspiration naturally ignite.
In cafes and marketplaces, let creativity flow naturally, and your inspiration or creations belong to you.

Vision#

dAgora aims to reshape online spaces for positive discussions. Here, we encourage expression and dissemination, create conditions for the collision of ideas between people, and nurture the seeds of co-creation. We explore the value distribution of co-creation to lay the foundation for a sustainable creative community.

We believe in the importance of communities to Web3, aiming to create products and services that achieve PCF - Product Community Fit for more communities.

What is dAgora?#

dAgora is a Web3 creator economy ecosystem built around community content, curation, decentralized creation, and value distribution. It will be realized through multiple components, including content collection, subscription, curation, and co-creation.

Cori - Content Collection#

Cori is the first component launched by dAgora. Valuable content generated through discussions in online communities can be stored on the blockchain and benefit from decentralized storage and ownership confirmation through Cori.

The MVP version of Cori is a Discord bot that helps community members curate any conversation content within the community. It provides recommendations, tag labeling, and other features. Curated conversation content will be stored on the blockchain, along with information such as the context, author, and curator of the conversation. In the current MVP version as a Discord bot, the context of the conversation corresponds to the Discord server ID where the conversation took place.

Currently, Cori uses IPFS for content storage and the Crossbell social chain for content ownership confirmation. It already supports multiple languages, including Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English. Any Discord community can invite Cori to their community to store curated content.

In the future, Cori will support more social scenarios beyond Discord.

Other Components - Subscription, Curation, Co-creation (Under Development)#

Subscription#

The subscription module will aggregate and display all the content curated by Cori. It will provide multidimensional subscription features, such as subscribing to different communities, contributors, curators, or tags associated with feeding Cori.

Curation#

The curation module is an important part of promoting the dissemination of high-quality content. Based on the capabilities of the Crossbell protocol, all content on dAgora can be minted as NFT collectibles. Holders can add multiple NFTs to custom theme lists, enabling decentralized content curation. Of course, each list should also be available for subscription.

In addition to objectively helping good content spread, curation is also a form of re-creation based on the original content. Therefore, curation should be considered as a contribution to dAgora, just like content creation, and participate in value distribution.

Co-creation#

We hope that the content showcased on dAgora will not only be viewed or collected but also inspire more people and serve as a foundation for their own creations. The co-creation module is designed for this purpose.

We plan to develop it based on mature open-source blogging projects. Users can start their own creations based on the collected NFTs using methods such as "card note writing" and ultimately publish them on xLog for decentralized publication.

It is worth noting that the content and original authors referenced by the NFT will be displayed as a form of co-creation association and participate in value distribution.

Future Plans#

The web app part of dAgora is still under development as a community project. The project is also recruiting contributors to build it together. Your attention is welcome.

In the future, we plan to incentivize builders who contribute to community content, curation, and direct participation in development using tokens.

Value#

Keywords: context, ownership, value

Unexpected Sparks of Inspiration#

An important scene for the eruption of creativity and inspiration is in discussions and conversations with others. On one hand, online communities are like individual cafes where numerous discussions take place every day, but they are not well organized or fully utilized. On the other hand, people are active in different social platforms and communities, participating in many discussions, and the scattered data is difficult for individuals to possess.

dAgora decentralizes content scattered in different scenes, aggregates it, and displays it on personal dAgora homepages, confirming content ownership.

For individual creators, communities provide different places where they can participate in discussions without hesitation and without worrying about content dispersion or ownership.

For communities, for similar reasons, they can attract more content creators to gather in their communities and foster more interesting discussions. This effectively helps communities gather more high-quality discussions and active members, and cultivates a culture of collaboration. The content within the community will also be showcased through the dAgora community homepage, helping communities attract potential members with similar vibes.

Circulation and Distribution of Value#

Preserving the sparks of brilliant thoughts from everyday conversations is essential to protect the value of our content and enable its continued dissemination, creating more value. In this process, the role of curation cannot be ignored. Moreover, the inherently decentralized design of curation allows different voices to be heard.

Furthermore, regardless of the source of the content - whether it comes from a community or an individual - the value generated during the process of dissemination has long been monopolized by platforms and companies. We hope that while helping content communities establish better connections, dAgora can also help content creators, curators, and re-creators participate in value sharing.

Invite Cori to Your Community#

Become a Contributor#

Currently, dAgora only supports content storage from Discord communities. Developers who want to explore other channels can contact us. We also welcome more builders to join the community for discussions, collaboration, or contribute code to the open-source project and share project ownership.

We also welcome collaborations between dAgora and other communities/products. Feel free to join the discussion and share your ideas for future product development.
